'Waiting on Wednesday' is an event where I feature an upcoming book that I am extra excited about. I used to do this in the past and am making it a priority to do again. Seriously, who among us doesn't have a book or two or twenty that we are excited about reading? Plus, it lets us 'spread the word' about authors and series that we personally enjoy.
This week's 'Waiting on...' book is by an author that I have enjoyed for years. Dana Stabenow has written over 20 books in her Kate Shugak series, set in Alaska. She has also written other mystery series and also books in other genres. Dana is from Alaska, but I believe she has spent part of most years in Arizona lately. Her new book is the historical time period of the Old West. I think it sounds like one I definitely want to try. What do you think? Interested??

I used to love the Kate Shugak mysteries but haven't read one in way too long. I need to get back to that series and pick this on eup It looks really good!

DeleteI am really looking forward to this book and included it in a Historical Fiction for 2026 post. I am a bit peeved, however, that I requested my library purchase it and got a form response that they always buy books by this author. Well, then, why isn't it on order yet?? But I shouldn't complain because they do purchase most of the books I request.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...yes, the libraries I'm familiar with do usually have certain authors that they 'always' buy from. Wonder if they have her books coded to automatically order the Kate Shugak books. Anyway, hope they will get it for you.
DeleteYes to this one! I've always found the Harvey Girls so fascinating. I even love that Judy Garland movie about becoming a Harvey Girl.

DeleteI am interested in this book. I think both the time period and the setting would be interesting. We have watched The Harvey Girls musical with Judy Garland many times.
