Waiting on Wednesday - Leverage in Death

I'm posting a 'soon to be released' book on Wednesdays.  These will always be books that I am particularly looking forward to.  I'll be linking up to 'Can't-Wait Wednesday' hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings and plan to take part in this each week.

The book I'm waiting on this week is #47 in the series - can you guess which one?  And, I've read every single one of them!  I will be the first to admit that I really like J.D. Robb's 'In Death' series with protagonists Eve Dallas and Roarke.  Last year, I kind of went on a binge and caught up with all the books.  So now, as each is published, I can read them as they come out!  I know - small things excite me.  Ha!  This week I'm waiting on:

Publication Date:  September 4th

For the airline executives finalizing a merger that would make news in the business world, the nine a.m. meeting would be a major milestone. But after marketing VP Paul Rogan walked into the plush conference room, strapped with explosives, the headlines told of death and destruction instead. The NYPSD’s Eve Dallas confirms that Rogan was cruelly coerced by two masked men holding his family hostage. His motive was saving his wife and daughter—but what was the motive of the masked men?

Despite the chaos and bad publicity, blowing up one meeting isn’t going to put the brakes on the merger. All it’s accomplished is shattering a lot of innocent lives. Now, with the help of her billionaire husband Roarke, Eve must untangle the reason for an inexplicable act of terror, look at suspects inside and outside both corporations, and determine whether the root of this crime lies in simple sabotage, or something far more complex and twisted.

  1. #47! Wow that's impressive. And if they're still good even more so. Sounds fun. :)

    1. I still like them, but I love the characters. Yes, she's got a formula, but who doesn't want to read about Roarke? LOL

    1. This long-running series is a good one, for me anyway.

  3. Forty-seven?? Wow. That's a long series! I haven't read anything by Robb, but if you like him (her?), than I should probably give the author a chance!

    1. Susan, it's a 'she'. J.D. Robb is another name for Nora Roberts. She started this series with Naked in Death over 20 years ago. I've actually liked it better than many of her NR books.

    1. Yes, I've read them all. I did it last year when I was getting my walking habit established. I listened to this series while I walked and loved it. And it helped me get my steps. LOL

    1. I've had fun with the series. Read the first one so many years ago and caught up last year on audio when I was establishing my walking habit.

    1. Yes, you and your 'pitifully little' TBR couldn't handle it! I sneer at those who have a TBR that is less than thousands!! LOL

  7. How does this author write so much and under several names to boot! Hope you love it!

    1. I don't how she does it. Don't think she writes with partners like James Patterson.

  8. I only read the first couple of books. I can't believe she's up to #47 already. I'll never catch up, but this one does sound good.

    1. This one might be a little long for that, Gayle. It took me months last year.

  13. Fab post, Kay! Would you believe I have read several Nora Roberts’ books, but none as J.D. Robb? I should definitely check out the first in this series!

    1. It's called Naked in Death - FYI. This series is Nora Roberts writing crime fiction. I liked it a lot.

  14. I never tried this series and am unlikely to start now. But they must have something going for them if you read them all.

  15. I love Nora Roberts but somehow I've never read this series. The size scares me off a bit but it does sound so good!

    1. Katherine, you could dip in and out, though I would encourage you to read at least the first one or two. That sets up the main characters, Eve and Roarke. The first book is Naked in Death.

  16. I don't know if I'll ever catch up with this series, especially if I stick with the audiobooks. I just don't listen to many of them! It will be fun to try though, won't it? :-)

    1. I agree. I think the audios are well done. If I hadn't had a serious purpose in mind when I was making my way through them, I doubt I would have caught up on the series. They were my 'treats' to myself to keep me faithful in making walking a priority. Yes, it was bribery. LOL
